The Washington-East Washington Joint Authority was proud to have three members of our team recognized at the Western Pennsylvania Water Pollution Control Association’s 57th Annual Awards Luncheon on October 16, 2026.

Jay Carlisle (Plant Superintendent) received the Excellence in Operation Award, which recognizes a DEP-licensed operator responsible for the operation of a treatment facility. Recipients are selected based on plant performance, records, maintenance, and good housekeeping.

Michael Cramer (Collection System Superintendent) received the Twenty-Year Operator’s Award, recognizing DEP-licensed operators with 20 or more years of membership in the Western Section.

Robert Herring (Executive Director) received the John Yenchko Meritorious Service Award, presented for outstanding service and dedication to WPWPCA. The award was established in 1981 in honor of John Yenchko and recognizes individuals with a distinguished record of service to the organization.

These recognitions reflect the experience, professionalism, and commitment found throughout the WEWJA team. We congratulate Jay, Michael, and Robert on these well-deserved honors and thank them for their continued contributions to WEWJA and the wastewater profession.
