WEWJA Board Adopts Updated Sewer Use Rules and Regulations

On August 24, 2026, the Washington-East Washington Joint Authority Board of Directors adopted updated Sewer Use Rules and Regulations through Resolution No. 26-8. The revised document modernizes the Authority's regulatory framework and establishes clear requirements governing the use, operation, and protection of the public sanitary sewer system.

The update includes significant revisions to the Authority's Municipal Industrial Pretreatment Program and the addition of a new Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) Control Program. These changes help protect the Authority's collection and treatment infrastructure, support compliance with federal and state environmental regulations, and provide clear guidance for industrial, commercial, and residential users of the sewer system.

The document has also been reorganized and reformatted to improve clarity, consistency, and usability for customers, contractors, developers, consultants, municipal partners, industrial users, and Authority staff.

The updated Sewer Use Rules and Regulations became effective immediately upon adoption by the Board of Directors and are available for download through the Authority's Forms + Tools page.
