Municipal Industrial Pretreatment Program

Ensures wastewater from commercial and industrial facilities is properly treated before entering the public sewer system to protect infrastructure and treatment operations.

A Municipal Industrial Pretreatment Program, or MIPP Program, is designed to ensure that wastewater discharged from commercial and industrial facilities meets established standards before it enters the public sewer system. This program works to prevent harmful pollutants, excessive solids, or high strength waste from interfering with treatment processes at the wastewater treatment plant or damaging collection system infrastructure.

WEWJA is coordinating with the Environmental Protection Agency to revise and adopt an improved Municipal Industrial Pretreatment Ordinance. Within the text of this revised ordinance, we are required to post our local limits on our website.
